well tbh they are correct , I was honoured to see LIVE the 1966 final when we won the Jules Rimet... those lads back then wore the shirt with pride and honor.... we have had since then had some very very good England teams.... but lately we have just got *****.....We have players of high quality....well one or two.... but in my humble opinion...the inception of the "Premier League" was the destruction of the national squad. We are totally ignorant to some very good players from lower than the premier league....England will not look any further than the premier league for their squad. That's a totally **** attitude. So now take a look at the squads of Scotland, Wales, N.Ireland and Eire.... they simply have to pick up from many of the lower leagues... and they seem to fair quite well on the international stage... its about time England looked beyond the "Champagne Charlies" of the premier league and opened the door to lads who will run through a brick wall for our national team...... RANT over
We had our golden chance to do something around 2002, you can't say that wasn't a top quality side, if the World Cup had been in Europe that year I think we'd have had a great chance of going all the way.
