Why wouldn't you use it if it is installed?

The competition should be equal for all teams / matches.

Simply because you surely should not have two sets of rules for the same competition .

    I agree with Red CB.

If you're all in the same competition you should all be treated the same.

Divisional is of course different as that's a singular competition.

I'm not saying VAR couldn't help a lower league club against a PL club but in my eyes it just isn't right. One in all in...... don't let the selectivity drive another mail in the already mass divide in the have and have not coffins.

    Can anyone imagine the following.....?

2 Wimbledon Semi Finals one with line technology and the other not

2 World Cup quarter finals with goal line technology and the others without

First two world cup Cricket group matches without snickometer, hawkeye or reviews then it's introduced intermittently throughout the competition

    Madness in my view

Hoping this will happen tomorrow ... 95th minute and we score the winning goal even though the linesman didnt spot the handball by Chaplin that led to the slightly offside goal by Woodrow.
    Who needs var?

It’s there for both sides. ( does it benefit one side over the other) I don’t get the issue. Other clubs outside the premier haven’t got it installed. I don’t know the cost of installation and monitoring. But does it outweigh the need for possibly 1 game. ? So long as both clubs agree I don’t see a problem.
Don’t like VAR btw. But more on the rules side.

It prejudices the competition, some matches have the 4 officials others have 4 officials & VAR , tonight Sheff utd appealed a decision & rightfully got that decision turned over , neither side has that opportunity in our match tomorrow , so one set of rules tonight different set tomorrow for the same competition , cannot be right

It costs nothing to not use it in a competition where only PL teams have it installed. Just have a blanket ban in 'open' competitions.

The same criteria should apply for every game in a competition, otherwise it is unbalanced and the integrity is compromised. Some teams are being protected from poor decisions and others aren't. VAR can correct any big club bias in on-field decision making for example. I also think the same should apply when admitting spectators as well. Some grounds are intimidating places to go to when home fans are present and it can be a leveller when they are empty. Spectators should only be allowed when it can be the same for everyone.

What does it matter what stadium its at?

Its all video replay footage sent to.someome in a broom cupboard miles away.

Why does the stadium affect it?

I personally don't think it does.

It's the pr!cks in the broom cupboard that are the issue
