Was in favour of it first off but it seems like the final nail in the coffin for a lot of back street pubs. Time for a rethink GB.</p>

    bad

I don't smoke but this ban is wrong - it would be easier to say pubs must have no smoking areas, which many did have anyway

I know there are issues regarding the health of bar staff but unfortunately that has always been a factor of the job, and I'm sure many of them would rather have a job to do than see their pub close due to lack of custom.

    GOOD

Smokers have had too good for far too long, most are inconsiderate and just smoke without no thought of other people.
This loss for the pubs is garbage talk. If people are desparate to smoke then go outside, where they'll break the law again by littering the street with there *** end!!!

    Bad

I don't mind smoking outside even in winter but trade is well down, Paul from O Dwyers was in the Chron last week saying the town centre pubs were struggling. Most pubs have felt it, that's why so many have closed since the ban.

    Good

Disgusting habit. And being forced to inhale someone elses filthy smoke because I want to sit and have a pint with the mates was the pits.

Keep them in the streets, and I hope it flipping rains on them.

The pub trade will never recover, if you don't like.......

the pub culture stay at home, a different room ( Tap Oyle) with decent extractor fans should have been enough, you lot that cried out for the ban are guilty of the murder of the Local, hang your heads, bloody do gooder's.

It's good, For all you that say its bad I ask you this

Why should I have to breathe in your 2nd hand smoke when I am trying to enjoy a meal ?

Why should I have to come home on a Saturday night after been down town stinking of fags?

I do feel for the people losing jobs over it all but I have gone out in town loads more since the smoking ban was introduced. Maybe the solution would be to have pubs with special licensees to allow smoking

I think that people are missing one very important point

Money is tight at the moment, the economy is in trouble and people are not spending as much as they were. Maybe this is why people aren't spending as much on a luxury like drink and it is in fact nothing to do with smokers having taken their ball home?

They are in all places of work and clubs, you just still think its right to throw them on the floor.
Anyway its banned, get used to it and you never know you might even want to give up and feel better for it.
