Of all the gloating in the papers and on social media for Leeds "tremendous " win against local rivals
Barnsley.? What do they expect.? On Saturday they paraded a squad that cost somewhere in the region
of £22 million against one assembled for around the £6 million mark and unfortunately on that occasion it showed. In assessing our prospects each season, I break the season down into a number of games and then
look at how we fare against the top twelve and the bottom twelve positions in the league ( discounting our position of course).

At this moment in time, out of our 18 games so far, from within the top twelve, with Derby and Fulham yet
to play we have won 1, drawn 2 and lost 7.

We have lost away to Wolves -1st place 1-2, Sheffield United - 3rd place 0-1 and Bristol C- 5th 1-3.
We have lost at home to Cardiff- 2nd place 0-1, Villa -4th place 0-3, Leeds-8th place and Ipswich-10th place 1-2.
We have drawn with Boro-7th place at home 2-2 and Wednesday- 11th place away 1-1.
We have beaten Forest -9th place 2-1 at home.

Out of the teams below 12 th in the table we have Won 4, Drawn 3 and Lost 1 thus:

We have lost at home to Hull- 20th place 0-1
We have drawn at home with QPR- 16 th place 1-1 and away to Preston-13th place 1-1 and
    Norwich-14th place 1-1.

At home we have beaten Birmingham-21st place 2-0 and Sunderland-22nd place 3-0 whilst away from home
we have beaten Millwall-19th place 3-1 and Burton-23rd place 4-2.
We still have to play Brentford-15th place, Reading-18th place and Bolton-24th place.

So whilst being hacked off with all the negative comments about what after all is a young and inexperienced
side, I remain optimistic that given the rub of the Green we could get the necessary points we need against
the teams in the lower reaches of the division, hopefully starting with a good performance at Reading tomorrow night. I still firmly believe that this young side has what it takes to survive in the Championship.

Take it as a complement that the papers and their fans are viewing it as a "tremendous" win. It means they were expecting a tough game (which of course they didn't get) and don't view us as pushovers.

You could argue that both Hull and Sunderland would have been expected to be top-half and challenging this season. That hasn't happened, but then I also expected the Blunts and Bristol City to struggle.

I haven't read any reports and deleted the recording of the game when got in.

Leeds are the press and TVs favourite under achievers hence why they are on telly so much during a season.

It's always going to be about them.
