Great performance against Stoke at the Victoria Ground in the Cup. They were 2-0 down but ran out winners by 3 goals to 2. Newcastle beat Blackburn 4-2 after extra time and Wednesday won 1-0 away at Luton Town.
Accept that Ade. I don't believe in gambling, so I always refer to their Ground as the Victoria Ground, as do a lot of their supporters who I used to meet with at the Town Hall in Stoke. Quite a number are not impressed with the Coates families custodianship. Same as some diehard Newcastle fans who absolutely detest Mike Ashley and still insist on referring to their Ground as St James Park.
But it's not the Victoria ground, most Stoke fans I Know (and I know a load as i work at the other end of sir Stanley Matthews way) still call it the Britannia.
You're right Ade. Victoria Ground demolished in 1997. I'm going to give the lad I used to meet in Stoke Town Hall a bell and ask why him and his colleagues still insist on calling it the Victoria Ground.
They do. Thought Ashley rebranded it as the Sports Direct Arena ( at St James Park) around 2011.? His Company logo is in prominent places round the ground. Majority of their fans I know can't wait for "somebody " to buy Ashley out.
