Derby, Wednesday & Reading apparently being investigated by the EFL https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/efl-launch-inquiry-derby-countys-3285859
I dare say that players will be able to deal knives and drugs during a game as long as the efl get something out of it.
Everyone and their mother knows its a fiddle.. but nothing will be done with football being one of the main diversions.. Focus on the meaningless boys and girls.
They won't do a dammed thing.. First time they do football will implode.. So it's in their best interest to pay it lip service investigate and find nothing wrong then they can say... Nothing to see here come along now move on
Investigate, come up with something inconclusive......fob the rest of the EFL, with some new weak guidelines designed to look good. Then revisit the Mcgeehan incident from last season and ban him for a further 3 games, to let all the other teams know they mean business!!
Under the UEFA guidelines it comes down to is Derby stadium worth £80 million? If not they have breached, if it is they haven’t. Also just read all of Rooney's wages will apply towards FFP as there is no option to split it.
Their rules/ guidelines as well as their enforcement rules are as weak as dish water. The whole "fit and proper" ownership needs a radical rethink with proper rules and regulation and a contract that the whole EFL, sign up and adhere to. Some of the owners and their (ahem) attitude to running clubs is both unethical and unworkable and downright unfair on the clubs trying to do things the "right way". The interview on talk sport after the Bolton fiasco, revealed that owners have to produce a plan and finaces to back a club for 2 seasons. It beggars belief, some of these people are let anywhere near a corner shop, let alone a football club.
