You know the Sunak seat belt thing got me thinking about just how stupid some people are.
Firstly Sunak for being stupid enough to take it off on film. But secondly the fact we have to fine people for not wearing them. Why would anyone get into a car and not have a seat belt on is a mystery to me.

I can understand that it took a while for people to form the habit 40 years ago. But anyone under 50 can never remember anything different now. Anyone who consciously chooses to not bother ought to go back and watch some of the more graphic government adverts about the consequences of not wearing one.

    Like this one...

The thing I don't understand is that every modern car I know of bongs like Big Ben on acid if someone is not wearing their belt. I can't imagine the PMs car not having a weight detector on the back seat to bong like mad if it is occupied and the belt is not on when my Kia has it. Has he had it disabled because he does it routinely?

It could have been plugged in but he was sat on it rather than it being in front of him.

I would say the same thing about smoking. I particularly hate those who subject their kids to smoke inhalation - selfish b4stards.

I was a passenger in the 1970’s in a bad crash at Hickleton, I suffered fractured vertebrae in the spine and relatively minor hand and facial cuts, without the belt I know I would have been dead.

As a non smoker myself I sort of agree but smoking is actually addictive and as such I can at least understand how people become addicted.
Not wearing a seat belt i just can't understand, it's barely a inconvenience and can save your life.

Or just a clip plugger in, you can buy them. I remember have little extension ones when we had the kids in booster seats.

I disagree on the smoking thing. I understand how addicted people don't quit but I don't understand how people become addicted in the first place without being idiots. I'm not addicted to smoking, mainly because I didn't start smoking

True I suppose many people get addicted when they are young, often at school and a lot of us are idiots at that age.

Sunak might not be brilliant with the seatbelt thing, but I bet he and his buddies are right up there when it comes to nuclear shelters.

I tried it once as I was dared to smoke one of my mates mum's cigs. Took me 27 years to stop.
