Just seen that they’ve changed ownership after ten years. A win last night, their first away win in over a year. Maybe a survival push in the national league is on the cards?
I'm not really sure what's been going on there but it seems like it's been an utter mess. Fingers crossed they've hit their rock bottom and are on the way back. Sad to see Oldham looking so precarious - another grand old club, dreadfully mismanaged.
Met a couple of old lads on twitter who support Scunthorpe, at the time they were in league one with us. Really knowledgeable, humorous and kind-hearted fellas. Massive shame to see what's happening through no fault of their own.
I really feel for Scunny, decent club and decent fans who have suffered greatly the last couple of years. Glad to see they're under new ownership and hopefully that is a small step in the right direction. I really hope they somehow survive in the National League this season as I couldn't see them coming back at all if they were to be relegated to the National League North.
They're only 5 points behind as it stands, the problem is, the 2 teams on 27 points both have 3 games in hand! really hope they stay up
Agree with all that. Would love to be playing Scunny and Oldham again with them coming back up through the leagues. Old Farmhouse is one of my favourite away day pubs at Scunny. Even watched us there in a pre season friendly and I dont particularly like even home friendlies. Oldham is a lovely journey through Holmfirth, up past the now shut Ford Inn and over the tops. As for Rotherham it's a shame we are both yoyo clubs so we always miss playing them at Championship level, which would be good.
When Oldham had the plastic pitch it wasn't a lot of fun, but would be a shame for them to drop out of the league.
