No disrespect to Wycombe, but I thought he would still command a Championship move? Good luck to the lad, liked him, and his family.
https://www.wycombewanderers.co.uk/news/2021/june/scowens-coming-home/ Grass wasn't greener for him when he left us. He's just had a poor season at Sunderland.
Good signing for Wycombe. I'm sure Scowen probably isn't quite at the level he once was for us, but it's the sort of signing that could get them back out of that division I'm sure.
It’s his level. Always has been for me. He looked great alongside Conor but looked out of his depth when he left for Villa. Not a dig, I’d love to be seen as a ‘decent league one player’. Fair play, he’s made the best of his career picking up a good wage and I imagine plenty in signing on fees by running his contracts down. Always put a shift in for us. Which is all that matters really.
Adam Armstrong's dad didn't rate him. He used to have 50 quid on him being our first goal scorer and he tore his hair out that Scowen wouldn't pass to his son. His Dad was convinced Scowen didn't like him. Was slightly amusing.
Was good for us in 2016 and always gave his all, I have seen a few threads on here in past calling for us to resign him but there's probley a reason he has joined wycombe
Hopefully we’ll play him this year at Oakwell on the date that Wayne Rooneys Derby country are due......
I think he’s regressed a bit since leaving us, he was popular at first with QPR fans & then gradually dropped out of favour & Sunderland didn’t work out (does it for anyone?). Maybe he’s burnt out young, he’s very rarely injured & is always fully committed. It can happen.
Had a poor season at L1 level, not sure what made you think he'd command a. Championship move. Clearly past it.
Why would he command a championship move when he has just had a very ordinary season in division one ? I think his championship days are behind him.
