No thats not a typo - just 600 fans allowed into the quite large Hampden Park Stadium (capacity 51866) https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57100706 Thats around 1%. I am really struggling to understand how they could get to that figure but it must be something like 4 seats between each person and 4 rows and no bubbles allowed and it makes absolutely no logical sense
Might as well not bother. The amount of organising an event like that for so few supporters doesn't make it worthwhile. Then there's the problem of how do you allocate tickets......
I think they all should make a video of them doing their clubs chants and then upload on SM for a public vote. With obligatory sob stories too of course.
At the start of the new season in Sweden, 8 fans were allowed in the ground. No idea whether that is still the case - think they're about 6 games in, but it really tickled me.
Disgusting isn't it. I wouldn't want to go it just wouldn't be a fun experience despite it being a final. Good luck to them finding a fair way to distribute tickets.
Been a big surge in infection cases recently in the S Side of Glasgow. So probably more chance of getting infected walking to the ground.
Latest. Glasgow kept in level 3 meaning there will be no fans at Hampden. Surely the final could be moved to Tynecastle if only to get some fans in.
It's a shame for the 600 supporters of those clubs. The cynic in me can't help thinking that they'll be a greater number of 'people' out celebrating - again - their first league championship on Saturday afternoon which the powers that be will facilitate. Madness.
But why put players at risk playing a game in an area with a heightened instance of covid? Surely moving it to a level 2 area would be safer for all concerned
A surge in cases doesn’t automatically mean a surge in risk. What is this surge? Where has it come from and where has it gone to? Where is it predicted to get to? What would a further surge do to hospitals vs. current? A surge in cases does not mean we rush for the lockdown button. If you see a surge and don’t feel safe then wisely stay at home. But the whole point of the vaccine was to allow us to see out any ‘surge’. Not to carry on locking down as we have without the vaccine
Now zero fans. I personally agree with @Loko the Tyke, it’s about serious health issues not cases. Normality may not resume quite as quickly as we hoped.
