Back to back games on Sky for the first time since our play-off days (probably). Bournemouth come into this one off the back of a home defeat to Preston, who do have the best away record in the league. That was only Bournemouth's 2nd defeat of the season (an away defeat at Hillsborough was the other). This is the Cherries 3rd and final trip to South Yorkshire this season, with a draw at Rotherham being their only point from their other two visits. Historically, we have the edge over Bournemouth (must be the only team we do 16W, 13D, 13L), although we haven't beaten them since 2004. We've not recorded a home league victory over them since 1988 (5-2). There's been plenty of goals in their games this season, which leads me to believe we're probably going to have to score twice to have a chance of getting anything out of the game. I'm going for 3-2, with Styles, Woodrow and Chaplin scoring.
Had a look at their squad this morning they’ve spent some money alright... A point would be a fantastic result
0-2. They've got some good players and I think we'll find it too difficult to score against them bearing in mind our powderpuffery up front.
1-2 Bournemouth. They had a disappointing result mid-week and think we will see them bounce back here. We are good at the moment but they have just too much quality for us to cope with I think.
I think they've the best squad in the league, we'll need to be at our best tonight to get anything, going for a draw
I'd take the draw now tbh, be great for confidence, a win against Wycombe and going to the sty on a high, COYR
Rotherham had a good go at them, had a bit of luck and got a 2-2 draw. Would settle for that today. As long as we don’t go marvelling at them in awe we’ll be alright
The first season I had a season ticket, bought for me by my late Father, was the 1969/70 season. We started that campaign at home to Bournemouth (at that time they were called Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic) and won 1-0. It was a penalty for our goal, possibly scored by Allen Bradbury but I may have got that bit wrong. I'd certainly settle for a repeat of that score line tonight.
