If you're an Oxford fan then Oxford ARE massive. As to winnought, not too fussed what he does really...
He's obviously happy to coast now until he retires. Fair dos. I just hope his contract at Oxford reflects that.
He's made his brass, he's an happy sub right now in the 3rd division , still getting paid a decent living for basically just keeping fit, but, do you know, what goes round comes round. I hope he has a conscience.
When he went there a few thought he would do well but the injury he got while on loan at derby did him. I think if he hadn't got that injury derby would have bought him permanently but the only way is down now for sammy
Not the Top 20 podcast had an interview with Conor yesterday (it's great, and they're always worth listening to anyway - they know their stuff and are generally very complimentary of us: ) He talks really well about everything, but what really comes across is how much he just wants to play football. He wasn't forced out of Villa, and hopes to get back to the Premier League eventually, but asked for the move and chose to move into a flat by himself a hundred miles away from his family in order to just keep on playing simply because he didn't think he'd get as many games if he stayed. Conor's definitely the better player, but Winnall was a good Championship striker and could certainly have done a job for Wednesday, or another team once it didn't work out there. But just look at their appearances since leaving Barnsley. Night and day as far as I can see in terms of professionalism and respect - strange that they had such a good affinity when they were here!
It always seemed like they should come as a pair and if Wednesday had taken them both they could have been where Villa are now. Conor’s exquisite passing and crossing into the box and SSW on the end of them. Match made in heaven and I bet Sam realised that as well.
Funnily enough, I recall a poster INSISTING Hourihane & Winnall were incapable of playing together in the same team!
Like Rebrov and Shevchenko. Tottenham needed them both together but Shevchenko went to Milan. Rebrov was sh 1t on his own.
