I can see the EFL season being suspended as more of England goes in to Tier 4 lockdown.

It's Huddersfield on Boxing Day, not Rotherham.

No chance. Elite sport should continue.

Some games could be at risk. There could also be increased testing and a ban
on celebrating with team mates when a goal is scored.

If cases continue to rise and more football clubs become affected then the governing bodies will have no choice but to put a stop to it. Can see a 3 week circuit breaker shutdown coming in for professional football.

3 week circuit breaker eh?... Wonder if the top teams will be able to squeeze in a quick tour around Asia, North America etc, etc? Lol

That explains the Swansea result. We didn't want to risk celebrating.

I said if the virus continues to spread the authorities will have to do something. What do you suggest they do do if numerous clubs from all the leagues start to report positive cases and postpone matches? Perhaps we should just let them play on anyway, it'll be reight!

I wasn't disagreeing, just mischievously suggesting that the top six teams will see it as a way to pack their teams off travelling the world, raising profiles and coining in as much money as possible. For the record, I think the football returning has been a fantastic mental boost for many people and certainly helped during this continuing pandemic, however, I strongly disagree with the continuation of the European competitions, and the International fixtures should probably have been suspended indefinitely. In my view it is unnecessary travel between Countries, possibly furthering the risk of spread of the virus and all to keep the sponsors money flooding into the respective organisations coffers.

Rugby league showed how it can be done. They focused on games that could be played rather than the ones that couldn't.
