Obviously the result was fantastic but I was also impessed with the whole set up at Rochdale.

Decent bar at the ground that was very welcoming with a decent mix of home and away fans having a drink together before the game.

How it should be at football....

My wife wanted me to take little lad but I wasn't sure what it was like around the ground so I left him at home but like you say a friendly lot at Rochdale.

Very friendly atmosphere but the steward at the gate wouldn't let me in with the fish and chips that I had queued for ages to get. I had to wolf it down quickly because it wasn't far from kick off. This is a chip shop literally outside the ground yet you're not allowed to take their food inside the ground.

Is this health and safety (ie I might assault somebody with a hot piece of cod) or is it protecting their own catering interests? I know it's a flippant point but it really is stupid. I should have put it in my rucksack and just gone in with it. Probably got ejected then :)

I reckon its more the waste that would need cleaning up afterwards. Greasy fish and chips chucked on the floor by fans of any of the clubs would be a bugger to clean up. Not saying an upstanding fellow as yourself would but we all know what other fans can be like, be that our own or away fans.

Yes you’re right - it would be s nightmare clean up operation. I always find a bin but plenty don’t
