Obviously the result was fantastic but I was also impessed with the whole set up at Rochdale. Decent bar at the ground that was very welcoming with a decent mix of home and away fans having a drink together before the game. How it should be at football....
My wife wanted me to take little lad but I wasn't sure what it was like around the ground so I left him at home but like you say a friendly lot at Rochdale.
Very friendly atmosphere but the steward at the gate wouldn't let me in with the fish and chips that I had queued for ages to get. I had to wolf it down quickly because it wasn't far from kick off. This is a chip shop literally outside the ground yet you're not allowed to take their food inside the ground. Is this health and safety (ie I might assault somebody with a hot piece of cod) or is it protecting their own catering interests? I know it's a flippant point but it really is stupid. I should have put it in my rucksack and just gone in with it. Probably got ejected then
I reckon its more the waste that would need cleaning up afterwards. Greasy fish and chips chucked on the floor by fans of any of the clubs would be a bugger to clean up. Not saying an upstanding fellow as yourself would but we all know what other fans can be like, be that our own or away fans.
