Other than his lack of pace he’s our strongest defender for me and very rarely misses an header so will be a big miss for us.
Desperately in need of a starting CB to replace Roberts, he’s unfortunately too injury prone, & obviously in his twilight years so he’s a good option at back up these days. I mean he struggled with injuries throughout his time at Birmingham. Maybe the guy from Lincoln is the answers as well as the Salford RB
Bad news if he's out for a while, our best defender by a distance. Also not great that the defence will be chopped and changed so early in the season before it's had time to gel a bit.
We should be looking for a younger Robbo regardless. I imagine it'll be Maël and Earl for Saturday. Assuming we aren't bothering with Lopata, then yeah, we need another right-sided centre half. One with Robbo qualities (head it and kick it). Loads to go at. Preferably with pace. Less to go at.
I think experience is a far greater need than pace and Robbos got that in abundance.Obviously a player who has both would be ideal but I can't think of many especially at our level.
Never mind looking,at this point targets should have been identified. The sell on plus the tribunal fees for the two young lads and the wages saved should now be spent on a right side central defender, right back and a number 9.Another winger won't go a miss either.
I'm slightly concerned with no Robbo and Shepard on Saturday. The moving of Mdg to fullback is for me his lack of strength and aireal ability, not sure how direct Burton will be but i fear us not winning enough first balls. The goal on Saturday came because we lost two headers in our own box we are certainly weaker in that department with those two missing.
