Former Liverpool defender Tommy Smith has unfortunately died at the age of
75 years. A ferocious tackler and the mainstay of many a great Liverpool team.
He was a key player in the 60's and Bill Shankly really rated him.

No it's not DT. I was out of the room when the passing of a Liverpool player was on the TV
and my wife couldn't recall who they referring to. You're right Thommo died in December.
Been on their website and can see that it's Tommy Smith who has died. Sorry about that everyone.

No need for an apology. It's myself that was " out of step". My wife told me that
a former Liverpool player had died and it had been on the tea time news. Problem was, she
couldn't remember the name. I went on Google and it came up as Peter Thompson.
After the event I checked the date and it flagged up with an Obit for Peter back in December.
Kirkham Tyke was right, it transpires that it's Tommy Smith who has died. No offence was
intended with my previous post and I sincerely hope I've not offended anyone.
