RIP Paul, an old fashioned centre forward who played when football was a man's game.

Saw this this morning. I thought he was a great player sad that he died at such a young age. RIP

    Just seen this, sad news.

One of the names I first got used to hearing on TV and Radio when I got into football as a 5 year old. You forget how the years roll on.

His goal against Hungary that got us to Espana 82 is the first international goal I can remember and mention of his name always makes me think of 'that' Admiral England shirt.

    RIP Paul Mariner.

It says "brain cancer" was cause of death. Poor sod!
He always reminded me of the '82 World Cup, and not forgetting Ipswich winning the UEFA Cup... the Ipswich team of that era was a cracking side.

Cracking old fashioned CF in his day. Part of a great Ipswich side of late 70s and early 80s. RIP….
