https://uk.yahoo.com/news/glenda-jackson-dies-87-brief-illness-105100444.html Loved her in Touch of Class and Women in Love. Another from my youth gone.....
My favourite lines in Touch of Class revolve around Steve (George Segal) trying to talk his would-be girlfriend Vickie (Jackson) into starting an affair. He says that he couldn’t be unfaithful to his wife if she were in the same State. “Where is she now?” asks Vickie. “Out of town” was Steve’s quick fire retort. The film is full of sparking witty dialogue and was my favourite featuring Glenda Jackson.
RIP Glenda. Thanks for posting the video Thetykester. She stood for a more equal society and her description of thatcherism was spot on.
RIP. Glenda. Reminded of Glenda Jackson as Cleopatra with Morecambe & Wise: "All men are fools. And what makes them so is having beauty like what I have got."
