I didn't mind him to be fair - there I've said it. Started the run and got us to Wembley - he may have been stubborn but he was young and enthusiastic. Some of the things he said were soft but he was entertaining. Having said that we now have a proper football man in charge- also young and learning but one who says it straight. It would be nice to hear Hecky praised rather than Johnson slated- it's always been counter productive in my eyes as it riles the other team. So how about a rousing chorus of he's one of our own rather than insults thrown at Lee. Niave I know but we live in hope!
Agree about really showing hecky support. LJ for me threw all PC loyalty in his face, another manager would have been sacked for the crap LJ was causing to our team, if PC had not backed him and sacked him as he should have the he would have never been offered the Bristol job. I just think publicly PC should have been thanked and shown respect for what he did t or him. By the way I'm so glad he went and we gpt hecky, I wouldn't change that.
I would rather fans focused on our players but unfortunately some fans will decide to concentrate on other things
Fully agree. I liked him and was disappointed when he left. He was learning. Wouldn't swap him for Paul Heckingbottom in a million years though. I was also disappointed when he came back trying to poach our players but, that said, if you hold out for integrity in football you're setting yourself up for disappointment. Don't bear him any ill will but I'd love to see us turn them over on Saturday.
Hecky is one of our own , and doing a right job . We're lucky to have him , don't hold no grudges against Johnson though
I hope we stuff them. He's a con man. Shafted Pat Cryne good and proper, after he could have had no complaints at getting the chop after the disgrace at Altrincham. He'd have been begging Oldham to take him back then not getting his shot at the championship.
Couldn't stand Pasquale and his exit from the club after a ludicrous losing streak was a joke. If I could choose one game to win this season, it's Saturday. More than Wednesday. More than Leeds. I hope we dominate the Spin and Slide zone. W4nker.
I never took to the guy and was less impressed with the way he jumped ship so soon but its done he is what he is and think we should just treat the game same as any other.
I was never a fan of his, played the most negative football I can remember seeing at Oakwell. Can't help but think he's dropped lucky with that Tammy Abraham & a chairman throwing money at it. He's also dropped lucky coming up against us without Hourihane, Scowen, White, Janko & possibly Bradshaw & Roberts as well. He also got lucky by not getting the sack with us. He ought to play the lottery with how much luck he's got
I loved Lee Johnson for leaving us. We wouldn't have got promoted had he stayed. He wouldn't have been able to stop tinkering with a team that picked itself. I do thank him for his wallchart though, and I see the club have based the new car park diagram around it. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
If it looks like Brizzle are struggling LJ will make his presence felt and attract the insults and chants to gee his team up , fans never learn whatever the geography.
I agree with that. I often think energy is better spent on getting behind your own team. Our fans love to bait good players, and they often tend to score in retaliation. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
He came, performed disastrously, should have been sacked, improved and then left. I'm indifferent, really.
I didn't dislike Johnson. I was happy we stuck by him during that bad run, I always thought the results didn't reflect the performances. I had a feeling of indifference when he left; I felt that the club was in a good shape on and off the field and that the departure of Lee Johnson didn't necessarily leave a gaping hole. He will always have his critics for leaving, but for me he couldn't have chosen a better time to leave. He left us pointing the right direction, and I don't think the majority of tha was down to him in the first place. Whilst it was a surprise that we managed to both win the JPT and then promotion, what wasn't a surprise is that we continued our run after he left. For me, Lee Johnson is just the opposition manager, as Rafa Benitez was last home game, as was Jaap Stam in the game before which I attended. #TeamsLikeBarnsley
The guy is useless, and Bristol City's good form is down to their Assistant John Pemberton. LeeJay had the gift of the gab, the stupid phrases, and the silly fashion sense.
We got into the playoffs with LJ after a 1-3 victory at Oldham around March. The exact same weekend a year later we got into the playoffs with Hecky after a 1-3 victory at Walsall. Does my head in when Bristol and other fans try & make out LJ should be given all the credit.
LJ ruined what was a very good chance of gatecrashing the play offs in that first year. Worst manager I've seen in my time, depressing football and you never felt he actually knew what he was doing. I still wanted him sacked until the very moment he left which was of course met with great cheers. Still cant believe how lucky we got because I genuinely thought we were stuck with him for the foreseeable. Thanks god not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Talked very well, seemed a good bloke in the media. Good start football wise but tailed off very badly Abysmal start to the season and no one could have argued if he was sacked - it would have been fully deserved. Then started the run that was continued and improved on by Hecky Showed not one ounce of loyalty to Patrick, when morally he should have done. Made things worse by trying to poach our players. I guess that's football. You Reds. Hecky is our King.
