And begged us to instead donate about £60 each to the club? Yeah that didnt add up to the £750,000 they took out of the account themselves...

And the £2.75m which they are now saying will come from the club represents roughly 14,000 season ticket sales.

Although based on Khaled’s figures from the Q&A session more like 27,500.

To put that in context, based on Khaled’s figures, if the club sells 7000 season tickets, the next four years’ sales will go on paying the outstanding purchase price of the club. Even on real world numbers it’s the next two years’.

I took the refund absolutely no way was I donating my hard earned when we have alleged wealthy owners who said they were going to grow the academy.

At the time, I reasoned that the club had done all it could for its supporters under extremely difficult circumstances. I had access to the games via iFollow and the last thing I wanted to do was to undermine the club financially by asking for a refund. I didn't want or need the money, and I thought the club could put it to better use.

I feel a right mug now.

For a club our size and probably in league one next season that is very bad news and i think we will struggle to compete at league one level. Blackpook fans boycotted for similar reasons. Time a official boycott happened here?

I'm in a weird situation because I don't like what the club intends to do with season ticket revenue and won't back it not putting in any money itself. However, I respect that they own the club and that's their prerogative. I took the refund and haven't put any money in since they blackmailed the fans and took this stance.

I support the team not the owners. History suggests that there are not queues of wealthy individuals or consortia waiting for the chance to take over our club. Thus we are stuck with our current owners for the time being. I think we know enough about them to know that if they do relinquish control to other parties they will not do it for peanuts. Thus any new owner would need deep pockets.

Looking at the current situation from a business point of view, on the assumption that the unlikely miracle does not happen in the next three months, our owners will be making every effort to regain Championship status as a Championship club is a much more valuable asset than a League One outfit.

That's the only solace I take. That when they eventually do sell up it will be to a Radcliffe type like with Nice. The club will move up a notch eventually.

I get that people support the team and not the owners and would still go if our local derby was athersley rec. But they doesnt need to be wealthy owners ready to step in this lot have already took 750k and by all accounts plan to take alot more from season ticket income making it harder for us to compete on the field. They have shown nothing to suggest that they will attempt to keep us in this league not even a rumour of incoming transfer.

I too would like to know what happened to the money and would appreciate action on the transfer front. My point is that business men like to make their money grow. For football clubs this means performing at the highest level. If we do go down the owners will wish to regain Championship status quickly. Then they would have a more valuable asset to sell. I would love new owners but they are not always better, Remember Doyle?

Doyle was never going to be the answer. I think the player trading model doesn't rely on us being in the Championship, I used to think like you but this season has totally changed my mind on that.

We know what happened to the money. It went to the Cryne's.

I took the refund but then renewed for the season that never was in terms of attendance. I reasoned I would keep my seat but save a bit of money on the already reduced renewal.

OGC Nice are/were a totally different proposition to Barnsley FC. They've won their first tier four times, the French Cup three times and are situated in the Côte d'Azur. We would struggle to attract Daniel Radcliffe!

If i was a billionaire like these allegedly are i would go out and bring in 1 maybe 2 center midfielders either on loan or permanent its not a very strong championship reading look awful and are on a deduction. The prize is 6million in t.v deals and the rest in season tickets etc. It would be much easier to try survive than get promoted next season wednesday, ipswich, pompey and bolton will all sell more season tickets than us and we have owners wanting more money out of the club if this is anything to go by. We will struggle next season imo

So did I, no more money from this household is going to the con men. That's four season tickets not getting renewed.

Where's the money going to come from to rebuild the side so we're capable of making a go at coming back up though? £6m revenue gone from being in the Championship and ST renewals income likely to be down by 50% or possibly more.
I can only see our best half dozen players being sold off in the summer for what they can get and cheaper replacements being brought in which could mean we continue to slide.
L1 looks a lot stronger than 2018-19 when we were last there.
