That has settled it now. We are a league one club next season. Now't else to say. We are not good enough. Dismal display against a poor team.
You worry it'll be years to bounce back now. I feel we're more likely to go to League Two than come back up sadly. Derby, Wednesday, Sunderland, Ipswich, Bolton, Portsmouth, Wigan, Charlton. There will be at least 5 of those sides in there next season with us. So so sad after we were three games from the Premier League just 6 months ago.
The rest of the season is now about damage limitation, both financially and with players’ confidence. We need to identify which players we can afford to keep with a league 1 budget and try and sell the higher earners. Unfortunately, there are some that I suspect are earning too much to attract offers, and this mob wouldn’t think twice about sticking us into admin and moving on. I think they gave up on the club as soon as they pulled out of buying the stadium.
I think they gave up when they found out that BFC was a legal minefield as far as complete control was concerned. No chance of selling a ripe juicy fruit to anyone. There's the stench of rot instead now. We're stuck with it. Probably for a while.
