Bad though VAR is, and it is REALLY bad of course, we might have actually benefitted from it this season with the number of obvious penalties for us not awarded. Having said that though it works both ways. We wouldn't have got some of those that were awarded, and we might have conceded more. If only the on field officials were better
This is the bit I don't get. If the fans know a referee doesn't give anything or is niggly, the players should. I've mentioned playing referee's before. A note to players when the referee's a homer, play to the whistle. Note to Helik and Andersen. Don't pull shirts in the opposition box because as soon as the corner is taken they ref will blow. Note to Woodrow. Don't back in to defenders when trying to win the ball. If you feel a feathery touch of a defenders arm or foot in the box get your shot off because you aren't getting a penalty. Clubs and coaches should have dossiers on refs too.
link We've only had him once this season - he was the referee for the home defeat by Bournemouth. Derby have only had him once as well - a defeat to Bristol City.

What you didn't say is that Ipswich should have had a man sent off just before half time. Stroud bottled it. The player who booked was subbed at ht and his replacement got a second half hat trick. Some things stick in the mind. Stroud is a pillock, first class.
