Alan Young slots into 5th place after his performance vs Northampton. Martin Woods took charge of the City U21s game, which was largely uneventful.
A very easy game to ref in terms of player indiscipline, the only slight criticism I had was the harsh booking on Shepherd for his first foul when Taylor (I think) for them was a persistent offender, can’t remember if he was booked or not. Anyways, a 7 from me
I kind of think these games should not be used as a comparator against, say, a refereeing performance in a full on league game. If this was cricket, I'm pretty certain the pizza cup games wouldn't count as 'first class'. Last night was such a low key and easy game to ref and there was barely anything for him to do. I don't think I learnt anything about him as a ref to actually provide a rating and yet I know he's awful from the game against Lincoln last season.
