been a long time since I've seen a ref that bad. kettle/willard level bad for me. totally lost control, and we will be the ones that get hammered for it.
He will have been assessed for that game so hopefully a second pair of eyes will account for him losing control. Who am I kidding? Of course that won't happen.
Cant understand why the general approach is no cards first half. Palmer tripped, clipped at least 8 times first 25 mins. Collins steamrollered mid air when he collected the ball. Cov Kicking ball away. Second half the yellow was permanently in the refs hands many of which were yellows for innocuous things.
"Innocuous" is exactly the word I used to my neighbour in East Upper, when he was growing increasingly exasperated by the referee's unwillingness to punish Coventry players for repeated fouls in the first half. I said he would eventually decide he needed to book somebody and that it would probably be one of our lads for a relatively innocuous offence. So it turned out. It was particularly ironic that our most fouled player, Palmer, should be the first of the 8 bookings. Utterly appalling performance from the referee. The Sky reporter covering the game apparently opined that it was ridiculous that we ended up with 8 bookings to Coventry's 2.
A couple of hours listening to my wife telling them about teaching and shitty school kids and then having to explain to her why you did all the weeding in the back garden when she says she thought you were going to dig the front garden because it desperately needed doing. Punishment, they know nowt.
