i think we have done well pre season and i am very optomistic for the season. lets just get behind them for a changge im sure they won`t let us down.
I agree, I'm really looking forward to next Saturday, which is a big turn around from a few weeks ago or is it the usual pre-season optimism all fans feel this time of year? (dancin)
Basically it is the same squad (minus Chopra) who failed so miserably last season - why so much optimism? The likes of Conlon, Wroe, Vaughan, Coglan etc who had chance after chance last season and did nothing still figure in the squad - why? At best, mid table again. (N)
Can't put my finger on it, why, it could be like I said, usual pre-season feelings every fan gets (well mostly ff ) ... it could be the attitude shown by the players in warm-up games or what I see has a change in tactics used by the 'new' manager. All we can do is hope the season pans out like we hope. (Y)
I thought last season Most were of the opinion that we had the players to get out of this league, but the managers tactics kept letting us down. So to turn your argument round, we have the same squad of players - except Chopra, and have made 3 new signings all players who if fit will add to the quality on the pitch, also some of our young academy players (Flinders, Tonge, Williams) are improving rapidly. I havent seen the pre-season games but the majority that have seem to think there is a good team spirit. I think we stand a decent chance of a playoff place this time out
Methinks you forget who was in charge for most of last season and the tactics (or should it be tic tacs) that he adopted.
RE: I thought last season We always stood a good chance last season. We shot ourselves in the foot when in winning positions on far too many occasions. Same players yes, different manager and mentality this season might reap the rewards. We were narrowly beaten yesterday by a team that almost made the championship playoffs, that have supposedly superior players yet we were probably worthy of a draw. Im looking forward to next week and hopefuly a promotion season to follow.
