Sorry to lift spirits as I have no information but I was thinking earlier after reading one or two carrot danglers regarding ownership.Considering Khaled is bringing his family over to live in Barnsley is it beyond the realms of possibilites that there could be an internal takeover with the CEO guaranteed to run the club if the venture comes to fruition.Like I said its just a thought with no foundation on my part.
Can't see that. Maybe if he'd been in post longer and had some success as CEO under his belt rather than an almost certain relegation but I'd assume any new owners would be looking to make their own appointments.
It just seems with him bringing his family over to live he may have had some assurances about his future.
The way he said it I just assumed his contract was lengthy enough to make it worthwhile. Not sure how much he's taken into the owners confidence about plans to sell or anything much.
BMW isn't suggesting new owners though. Just a shift in shareholding to give us new owners. The board vote in senior execs not just Paul Conway. Although he is pretty instrumental in who that ends up being as Chairman or at least who is put forward.
Did you get that impression then? Or just when he was giving his biography that he'd always planned on bringing his family?
The impression I've got each time I've heard him speak is that he's here to work for Barnsley Football Club and he's desperate to try and separate the 'noise' about Paul Conway from his ability to run that football club. The owners have very little to do with the operationally side of the club. We can't on one hand claim that we're just a number within a multi-club network and they don't have time for us, and then on the other hand claim that they're directly involved and making all the decisions. The two don't correlate with each other. It's a little bit like when we say that we'd sell anything if it wasn't nailed down, yet don't have a history of selling much at all for 2/3 years. I was surprised to hear his biography for a second time. Thought we'd covered that enough in previous forums. Although there were a couple of new bits of info in there.
I suppose the person asking it hadn't heard it or been at other forums. Tbh, it makes more sense engagement wise if its new faces each time, even if some info is inevitably repeated.
Maybe. I just think given our situation and what the consensus online believes to the feelings around the club to be, I was surprised that's how it kicked off.
Only rumour of a takeover was the cryne and nareev but that seems dead in the water as it was quite a while back. Anything like that could only be a positive thing for the club.
Bloody hell Brian, calm your thread titles down will yer? I've just opened two bottles of Bollinger to find that you are pontificating.
I'm trying to piece things together and think I've got it now. It's all a loyalty test and only those who renew in the early bird will be allowed into the new owners' exclusive buuming club. The new owners are Wonga and it's them that have stopped the originally trumpeted early bird easy payment schemes so that come May they can offer a 3 zillion percent option, over 3 days, with a free limited summer edition flatbread (delivery not included).
Precisely the owners don't run the club in any shape or form but yet they pick players or so called players out of the air, then buy them or get them on loan and they just have no bloody idea what that player can do. As Kammy would say unbelievable
Hasn’t been true in the past. Potentially true for a couple of players this Summer. Owners don’t need to run the club though. Otherwise there’s no point in paying a CEO.
They believe in using statistical analysis to identify players. I’m not sure they’ve ever made out they know a lot about the game? Although Conway does big himself up a bit at times, but always about the model rather than his own ability. Which makes the signings of Iseka and Oulare even more bizarre.
I know that is how they do it. But then some people with 10 A levels and a degree don't know how to boil an egg. You have to understand football to know a decent player
