Leicester aren’t ever going to play him again now just about finding the best fit for him. I.e. a club that lets him play. Us for instance. Would be daft if they blocked him or if he chose to join someone else.

I want him to stay and would love him to sign permanently. It would be good to see him do the occasional full game too from time to time.

It’s so important for our season that we can get him to commit to the club. He’s played a massive role since coming in, I’ve loved seeing him play for us again.

It just works, Matty lad you know it’s perfect (footballing wise) for both us and you. Make it happen.

Hopefully Matty will stay for the season and it seems certain we’ve got that lad from Forest green and Morris from Norwich so that would for me leave us needing some genuine pace upfront and that would do us i think.

Think we could still do with a quality left wing back to challenge styles and give us the option of moving him elsewhere if required. I don't think Oduor is the answer at this moment in time.

Would be very pleased if Matty James stays. He's such a good influence to have around tge club and the rest of the team.

He's just quality and we're lucky to have him

Why? Half the team was out of contract then. Not the case now. Absolute worst case scenario this time around is Mowatt doesn't sign a new deal and hence he's sold, and James goes elsewhere. Luckily, we've got enough talent in central midfield to absorb this. It wouldn't be great, I agree. But I don't think it would have the detrimental effect of losing Winnall, Hourihane and Bree in the same month.

No point investing in a ‘quality left wing back’ only to have them sit on the bench.

50 points will start to feel a long way away if we lose both Mowatt and James without any replacement brought in

Injury or suspension to styles and the whole team instantly looks alot weaker. Same can be said about Woodrow or Brittain. You can't not invest just because players may sit in the bench, players need challenging and we need different options. Take yesterday for example, styles didn't have the greatest game at left wing back...... Who's to say if we had someone decent to come on and push styles into midfield, we might have created more in the second half.

I'd like to keep Matty James. He's not going to be here next season though. Mowatt needs sorting out too. I wouldn't want to lose both of them now but if Mowatt doesn't sign a new contract we need to be sorting out next season's central midfield now.
I'd hope that would be Kane and Styles. If it is we certainly can't start next season with neither of them having had solid game time in those positions.
Kane especially needs a run in the remainder of the season to see if he's up to the role.

Some of the comments coming out suggest Mowatt is going nowhere in Jan, little things like Val saying the benefit of him isolating is a much needed rest etc. Would be great if he signed an extension though.

Madness to invest in back up players when there are areas of the starting XI that desperately need improving. We can’t afford to be carrying a 30 man squad.
