Which is the better? Personally I think the starting 11 at Wembley was better than our current team. Obviously losing Mawson has been a huge loss and although we've brought in 2 very good strikers, neither are as good as Fletcher. Isgrove and Kent are pretty even IMO although Kent does offer a much better end product. The one area we've vastly improved is putting Scowen back in the middle after Brownhill.

However, we do have much more depth to the squad now.

Didn't expect to lose Mawson so soon, not only a good defender but chipped in with a goal every five or six games as well, so in that respect we are probably worse off.

Fletcher is a top player but I think Armstrong is certainly just as good. Loved Isgrove's passion, he didn't seem like a loan player.

Add Fletcher to this team and i'd say this one but I think it's pretty even. Maybe this team edges it a bit but only by a small margin and that's mainly because we're winning against better sides.

Armstrongs and Bradshaw both look good but Fletcher towards the end of last year looked special, almost unplayable.

That four-game run from Wigan away to Wembley is, I think, some of the finest, most comprehensive football I've seen Barnsley play, with the possible exception of that Glavin team in its pomp. Are we better now?? Hard to judge - as pointed out, Walsall and Millwall don't represent the kind of opposition we're facing week-in, week-out no, so who knows. Close call.

Id say the Playoff side if we just consider the 1st 11, but only because that had Fletcher up front he gave us something we havent been able to replace. In other areas we are similar to last season Yiadom definite improvement at RB - not sure that Cole is as good on the bench as Williams would have been though. Better depth in the strikeforce and midfield

Yeh I'd say in a one off game, the play off side would win but the added depth to the squad would see the current side finish higher in the table.

    I'd say Mawson > McDonald 1-0
Yiadom is a better right back than Scowen 1-1
White's a better left back than Williams 1-2
Nothing in Brownhill - Scowen for me. 1-2
Undecided on Kent or Isgrove so still 1-2.

And Fletcher over any of our strikers so 2-2.

    Same level for me

Well I think everyone knows my thoughts on Brownhill and White so I have that 3-2 to the play off side

Play off side had been together 5 month or so, I`d wait and judge this one in Jan also taking into account the opposition is of a higher quality.

Remember that a lot of our players are playing at a higher standard this year, Hourihane for example is twice the player he was last year.

I personally can't believe how much Fletcher cake on in such a short space of time. Those 3 play off games he was unreal, no one could get near him.

I'd go for the play off team. It's marginal but I think they are a better team and as others have said Fletcher was making massive improvements in his performance game by game.

Probably give it to Scowen over Brownhill but over than that it's pretty similar I just think it's the way this year the lads have stepped up and put in some good performances

Other than Fletcher I wouldn't put any off the play off side in this one that aren't already in

Surely he'll get given a start at West Ham before long, as with their current line-up they look appalling.

I just think Mawson and Fletcher are two HUGE players that we miss and are never likely to be able to replace. Id also have Williams over White.
