I only caught the last hour of it but have seen it's on Amazon prime so we've got it down for watching very soon. I know nothing about it so will watch it with an empty head (normal) but seeing that last hour makes me really want to understand it. The character acting is superb.
Read a book on this sorry episode of British history. Those in authority overreacted to a peaceful demonstration. In 200 years they do not seem to have learned much, they are still overreacting in some instances e.g. Any demonstration on London and under-reacting in others Manchester bombing.
While ever the phrase we’ll learn from this is accepted every time something happens as a shrug off ,things rarely change . Years on from the gun carnage’s of recent history and were still learning lessons ? Lessons that were taught at the time , It’s wrote up and inserted into legislation for incompetent , verging on criminal actions of individuals overseeing the acts who then go on to give back firearms etc .
