We never expected to be anywhere near the play offs last September. Don't let a loss today over shadow the achievement of the lads this season.
Agree, this season has been way above expectations but if this is our swan song can we at least go out with a bang bot a whimper?
Agreed, but I really hoped we’d take it to them. No composure, no quality, not a single shot, even the intensity has gone. Swansea haven’t left 2nd gear.
That’s perfectly fair DS. But saying this and saying we were awful in the first half don’t have to be mutually exclusive.
We might we win this game. Just putting it out there that if anyone had said we'd be in the play off semifinals before February, we'd have snapped their hands off.
The thing is we need to score at least twice without reply in 45mins when we haven’t managed one in 315 mins previously
Agree that perspective of the whole season is needed, but during the game it’s frustrating watching us doing the same thing over and over again with the exact same (lack of) results
In life you have to take your chances and for us to waste this opportunity just feels so disappointing. Maybe we just aren’t good enough but where’s the fight?
It’s not deliberate though. I think Cooper has figured us out and I’m sure the players are massively frustrated. But what a season it has been. A bit like 94/95. Just fell short but a brilliant effort.
I cant help but think we let this slip away. Refs in both games did us no favours but looking at ourselves we gave it our all for 75 mins out of 180m and looked tired and lacking in quality for the rest. I feel its a shame that we didn't leave everything on the pitch or maybe its a case of not having anything left to give. Interestingly we won almost zero second balls before our goal and won almost all after. Its a shame but we had a good season.
