Not seen it mentioned yet. From my angle, the goalkeeper and defenders obscured my view, the highlights are not much better. Did anyone from the east side of the Ponty or the south end of the East Stand see it clearly? If it wasn't a foul then either it was a dive (so why wasn't he booked?) or Styles fell over the ball....

From our new wonderful view in the east stand lower we are now sat in line with the 6 yard box & the incident was smack in front of us , I normally do not react but I was up like a rocket shouting penalty it was a deffo for me, I would not liked it have happened at the other end otherwise Mr Friend might have been unfriendly .

From my position on the settee, it looked a penalty.

There was contact, but Styles knew what he was doing, he tried to buy the penalty, didn’t fool the ref, although you see them given more often than not.

I think he shaped to dive, but got pushed regardless. Penalty, but he should have been like Iseka v Blunts and got his shot away.

Pen for me. As it looked like a push. But he appeared to be over dramatic in the way he went down. It probably dissuaded the ref from giving it.

In real time it looked a blatant pen. On the replay, Styles was clearly looking for it. Technically, it was probably a foul, but I don’t like to see them given when the player was going down regardless.

You can usually tell when Styles has dived... its the belly flop with extended pike.

    Should have been booked.

Are you on about the Derby player that clipped him ? , clear penalty & we had a better view than the ref .

Even If there was any minimal contact, it wasn't enough to bring him down.

The muggings of Andersen and Helik at corners however.... now they were blatant penalties.

What a dive..maybe without the theatrically engineered acting he may have got away with it...Mr Kevin Friend of WRDC couldn't rule it out quick enough...

I reckon if you're scoring goals those are given. If you're struggling to score from open play it looks increasingly like a dive to the ref.

Its funny how the number of penalties we get given seems to go up or down depending on our fortune - I know if you're playing well then the balls going to spend more time in the opposition box, etc, but it did look like the kind of incident which would have been given as a penalty last season. I sit in East stand upper near the ponty end so had a perfect view, it looked like a penalty to me, but I've not seen the replay, it was interesting to see Styles didn't react much though, maybe he knew he'd tried to buy one?
