    Spend a million in loan fees and nearly another on wages - for another central midfield player.

    Cannot and will not happen.

    As good as Conor was for us, we moved on after Glavin, redfearn and Hignett left. The club have moved on, Hourihane has.

    So must we. Thanks for the memories Conor.

    Why would Conor want to? He wants to become a regular with AV, get them promoted and play in the Premier League. Coming back here on loan would be a step backwards for him and would mean that he has no chance of cementing a first team place with them. Why would Villa let us? They bought him because they want him, not only would that stop them from being able to play him but they'd be loaning him to a rival.

    I'm looking forward to seeing McGheehan play. I'm confident both him and Lindsay will be top class. I have my doubts about a Moncur and can't see him and McGheehan in the same team. I think we need to sign a quality defensive minded midfielder more pace on the wings and a couple of forwards plus 3 more loanees and it'll be reight.
