Isn't saving the club, it isn't buying a crappy little scoreboard or funding the purchase of a player. It's not seeing us relegated or seeing us promoted again. It's not selling a player cheaply or being clever with the clauses he inserted into the John stones sale. It's not letting the stands fall into disrepair and it's not repairing the west stand. It's not owning the club and it's not selling the club. It's nothing to do with Barnsley FC at all. It's his son James.

You could say James was fortunate to be born to rich parents. You could make silver spoon comments I guess but how often do you see these 'rich kids' grow up to be arrogant selfish *****? That's something that nobody can ever say about James. I've never heard anyone say a bad word about him. I've seen people question his involvement with the spreadsheet but never heard anyone criticise James the person. And when you are talking about a 'rich kids' that is extremely rare.

From what I hear he is an extremely polite, friendly person and generally just a really nice man and that is a huge credit to both Mr and Mrs Cryne for the values they have instilled in him and the way they've brought him up. Patrick would be extremely proud of him and he should be extremely proud of himself too.

Forget the football decisions Patrick made or the money he put in? The single greatest gift he gave us was installing his son, a lifelong Barnsley fan with manners, a caring nature and wth brains onto the board.

RIP Patrick and to Jean and James I hope you find it within yourselves to get through this difficult time.

Some of our dickheads abused him at an away game about 'the spreadsheet.'

For him to forget that and continue to care about the club, and want to give it his best, speaks volumes.

Let’s not forget that James was previously mooted for a position on the board and sections of our fan base effectively hounded him out of the club and he was removed as a director almost instantly. Very poor, imho.

As a moot point there was more stick, baiting and abuse over this, other forums, fan engagment do's and social media than there ever was at an away game.

But we'll save this discussion in detail for another day. Now isnt really the time.
