Patrick Cryne's decision to step down implies a seriousness to his condition and we hope and pray the treatment is successful.

My impression is that he is a private man who has not sought the limelight.

I think the idea of a flag or of chanting his name is not the best way to show our support for him -- my impression is that he is a private man who doesn't enjoy the limelight.

I phoned the Club this morning and asked for my best wishes to be passed on to him. I feel it would be more appropriate for his supporters to do that.

I don't think that thousands of people clogging up the phone lines of his business is the best thing to do to be honest

Patrick loves engaging with fans. We all have our own ways of showing our support and I doubt he would take amiss at a flag or people chanting his name. I'm not sure it would be feasible for everyone to phone, I think it's just nice for people to show their support in whatever ways they feel is best (whether that be phoning, flag waving, mobile phone lighting up, chanting etc.)

I can imagine he is feeling a little down and lonely at the minute pat. I should imagine when he turns his tele on to watch his bfc and he sees 13k+ reds fans showing their support with the light display and flag it will cheer him up no end and hopefully give him a little bit more fight.

Each to their own really but I think thousands of people wishing me on with loud voices and unequivocal love would really give me a boost.

Even though I only actually have eleven friends, you get the idea though.

I say sing. Wave flags. Spread the love. Can't hurt can it?

sorry fella I totally disagree with you

For him to feel the love and gratitude from the Oakwell brethren can only give him courage and hope, IMHO. He has never kept the fans at arms length and has always done his best to be open with us and attend as many meetings with the fans as was possible. So no mate I am gonna have to disagree with you on this one.

He took it very personal this time 12 months ago when he (and his immediate family) were getting dogs abuse from many of our fans, both on here and in the real world, so I think likewise he would equally appreciate the massive show of support for him at this very difficult time for both him and his family

I see no harm in a chorus of "He's one of our own..." during the televised Forest game.
