What Mr Cryne started in terms of bringing in talented youngsters and turning them into decent players has been continued under the new ownership with great success.

After seeing 3 important players go so far this summer for around 5 million being replaced by some young foreign players and a couple of highly rated British youngsters could upset a few but I believe its the right thing to do.

Turn over at barnsley is always going to be key to keep us financially viable and young players with potential will look at us as a good place to showcase themselves.

Its always disappointing to lose good players but we have good foundations at the club with a good manager who can add to what we have and make it work I'm sure.

Patrick set us on this course and I fully believe its the correct one that will see us right going forward.

    Keep the faith

Unfortunately, the legacy of selling players for a fraction of their true value has also continued.

Hopefully that’s the last of them, as the new owners at least have the foresight to offer 4 or 5 year contracts to players we expect to improve...

Yes Patrick and James got the ball rolling - and these new owners are now taking it to the next level with their ability to offer longer term contracts.
I think what we have seen in the last few weeks with players leaving for relatively small transfer figures are players recruited before the new owners could get fully established.

But there's a downside to long deal's tho, if they're not up to it and don't make the grade your stuck with em.
    Fine line..

You say relatively low transfer figures but none are proven in the championship.... Pinnock 12 games in a relegated team and lindsey more games but also struggled. Davies had a nightmare at this level last time so I think the fees we got with contracts running down weren't that bad.

I expect Moore to be sold this month for around £4m. Just hope we have a few aces up our sleeve
