Why is the number 80 relevant?

I asked that question on facebook and the response was to make sure it's dark by the time we do it!

Why not just sing? Much easier and he'll be able to hear if he's listening on Barnsley Player.

There's no relevant to the 80th minute. I believe PC is 65 yrs old. Surely it's dark enough to do it at 16:15 (65th minute)

Personally think it would be better to do a minutes applause on the 65th minute against Wigan then do the lighting the phones thing against Forest after all it'll be alot darker and with it being on Sky will get alot more coverage

I agree with you there a minutes applause on the 65th and the when we on sky v forest do the light up oakwell in the dark and have a flag by then I'll go with whatever though be nice for a slo to make it all official... will be good infront of the sky cameras when Pc will probley watching the game at home will cheer him up no end to see 13k+ reds showing him their support.

I'm going to combine the two and set light to my hands on 65 minutes. Keep 'em warm too, which is a bonus.

Isnt that gesture usually reserved for people recently deceased ?
That would seem a bit weird imo for someone still very much with us ,I'd go for singing his name or similar.

    Fair enough ,
I wasn't dissing it, just questioning something we do for departed staff/fans.
Just though something like the singing of his name or the three little birds song we did in the great escape might have been more appropriate.but I'll go along with whatever's agreed upon.
