I’m taking my 3 year old to the women’s T20 international up at Headingley on Sunday, so ideally want to park as close to the ground as possible. Anyone got any parking tips for in and around the stadium? Thanks.
If you get there early enough there will be parking at the ground - block F is the one we park in for CC games. I would imagine it will be considerably busier tho so you might have to park elsewhere. Its only one stop on the train to Burley from Leeds if you want to park city centre. And you can park on street towards the Burley side - I know I do when I go to Brudenell Social Club. Think we have a few BBS residents live that side of Leeds who may be able to offer better advice.
Park on the street as close to the junction where Beechwood Crescent, St Anne's Drive and St Michael's Lane meet and then use the narrow road across the railway line to walk to the stadium. The later you are the further away there are likely to be spaces, but it's an easy enough walk, even if you end up somewhere close to Burley Park, which is still within a mile of the far side of the stadium. Depends on the 3 year old's perception of what a short walk is, I guess. I've also done street parking on the north side of the ground for a RL game there, on the various streets that run parallel to Headingley Mount. Shorter walk, if so, but will fill up more quickly.
Hi, I live in Headingley & this is good advice. Should there be no parking there Buckingham Road is always a quiet one to park on & is 5-10 mins walk & you'll be easy away on the Headingley Lane to get back.
She can always go on my shoulders if needed but obviously closer the better for the sake of my back haha!! Will have a look at those options, thanks for the replies all.
I second that re street parking just near the Railway bridge. St. Michael's lane/Stanmore rd area. Via Burley rd. Never failed yet. Although usually pop int pub (Skyrack) an hr or two afore the game. Quick getaway as well.
What time is it on please, so I know not to go anywhere? You’d think after living here for 15 years I’d have learned where to get the fixtures from by now! You’ll be able to park somewhere, even when every bugger is on my street and I’ve had to park 10 minutes away and walk, there’s always been spaces 10 minutes walk away.
I did let someone park in front of the drive on Sunday for the Leeds Marathon. There were tens of thousands of people walking up and down our street all day and I’ve never seen so many cars! We didn’t even attempt to move our cars (one on drive, one on road) that day as it would have taken forever to get off our street and I would never have got me space back.

I was volunteering in the stadium for the bag drop and got a parking permit for the day, which turned out to be in the Elida Gibbs park near the junction I mentioned. I think they use it as an overflow for staff for the big test match games, rather than as a public car park for supporters. Getting out was fun afterwards, given all the parked cars on the narrow streets around it and some 'questionable' choices made by some as to what classed as a reasonable choice of parking space.
Elida Gibbs is a great spot for free running the guide dogs we foster for the first time as although it’s not fully enclosed, it’s close enough to being so that they don’t get too distracted.
I always park on Victoria Road which is around a 10 minute walk to the ground and easy to get away from after. If you park very close to the ground it's tough to escape. Used to live around Headingley etc as a student so very familiar with it and that's my advice, if a 10 minute walk is acceptable.
