It’s me. I was gutted when we got promoted. Was personally hoping we got docked points for fielding Kieffer Moore early and ended up in the playoffs losing to Donny in the final with a last minute own goal by Woodrow after going thru one on one with their keeper only to smack the bar that hard that it rebounded all the way back up the opposite end of the field to then loop over Davies. I was also crying when we got promoted to the prem in 1997 and was gutted when Marcelle put that one in at end. Was really hoping Bradford pipped us that day cos who wants to play at the top level when you can win half your games and finish mid table in L1. As for next season, I’m not going anymore as I don’t wanna see us play and lose more than we have done this season. Hope we lose Moore, Woodrow, Pinnock and Lindsay too so that when I decide to come back next year In L1, I know we will be decent again
We all know that 2nd tier is too much for us, I mean why are we even in the Championship? What the hell were we thinking?
You jest Royston Tyke. However, I hear people spouting this ***** about not wanting to be a small fish in large pond when referring to us in the Championship. They are quite happy winning more than we lose in league 1. There are genuine idiots like this.
I've enjoyed winning in league 1 but I am really looking forward to being back hone where we belong. If we have a good season I wouldn't rule out a good fa cup run either
I've read their site a fair bit over the last couple of months. It's fair to say every forum has its idiots. There are a fair number on there though that make me hope they lose at Wembley. I really don't know who they think they are. They're up the creek financially because they had delusions of grandeur but still couldn't compete in the Premiership. They've now hit League One with a bump and can't cope. Spender has been a great poster on here but for the catalogue of "teamslikebarnsleyites"......I hope they get thrashed at Wembley and stay down til they learn a little humility.
Maybe all clubs have the same sort of fans - the ones who revel in the possibility that we might sell our best players! They almost wet themselves at the prospect of saying Told You So! I applaud “teams like Barnsley “ whichever league we/they are in! I can’t stand the arrogance of so called big clubs who seem to feel that they have a god given right to success - in my bitter, twisted way, I hope they all fail - I also hope we keep improving & our naysayers eat humble pie!
Next season will be our 76th in the English 2nd tier. No club has played more seasons at that level. It's where we belong. In the dark years of the 60s and 70s, Jock Steele's ambition was to get back into what was then Division 2.
