I am just catching up on Corry and have just spotted an error in the script.

Daniel Osbourne walks into the Rovers and says there was no contest between marking 30 "text books" or going to the pub.

I did a rewind and put subtitles on to check what he said.

How many teachers spend time marking TEXT BOOKS?

Methinks he needs more time on his PGTC.

The other error is, he wouldn’t have time to go to the pub. For planning, etc…

He's an English teacher isn't he? He could have been running through the students anthology notes and seeing if they're suitable to take into the exam hall. I know when I was doing my GCSE's there was a big hoohah about students having more or less the answers splurged alongside the poems. At some schools the anthology books were confiscated and or the students were failed. I was one of the lucky ones. Simon Armitage put me through hours of hell.

I reckon we had the same anthology Stephen! How does the Armitage go? 'Anyone here had a go at themselves for a laugh in the bath?'

I invigilator for my local school. For English GCSE the exams office had their own copies of the set texts which we placed on desks prior to the exam, This was in pre-Gove days of course, text books are not allowed nowadays.

It's how you take things. It could be taken as "w'nkers remorse".

    still catching up.

Daniel Osbourne was quoting Groucho Marx.

"outside of a dog reading is a man's best friend. Inside a dog it's too dark to read."

    I thought it was funny.
