on the Cov Sky blues forum telling them James is the best player they've seen in a BFC shirt in the last 15 years.......and they're lapping it up.:D

    Yes he's not bad, granted.
    But really?
Stones, Mawson, Hourihane, Hammill, Vaz Te, Howard, Muller and even................Paddy McCourt, even Bobby, off top off me head.

With the exception of Stones I think a fit James is better than all the others

Better than Hourihane, Hammill, Sir Bobby?

    Brian Howard even. Disco.

Nah, he’s a quality player, I think not trying to retain James might bite us on the arse and the fact he’s gone/going to a club below us in the table might improve them a lot. But he’s not the best player we’ve had in a decade and a half, not in either spell.

I’d rate Scowen equally, all the others off the top of my ahead above as higher - and there’ll be more. Pinnock, Drinkwater. Luke Steele. So many consistently good performers and stand out players from that long period.

Matty James is a quality footballer and comes across as a top fella and good influence too. I’m bitterly disappointed he’s not staying. But let’s not oversell it.

Matty has been good for us in both spells, no doubt about it, but i cant actually remember a game were he has took it by the scruff of the neck and won it for us like many have before him.

However for a squad so young to have the influence and knowledge of Matty must have been priceless for them and for that reason alone he will be a big miss. Just how big of a miss we will find out in the next few weeks/months.
Having said that a opening has just opened up for one of these young uns to show us what they are made of

No not those two , but a fit James was an integral part of Leicester getting promoted to the Premier and would have gone on , in my opinion to be a regular in the Leicester Premiership side if not for serious injury .

    Class player.

All things being equal without injuries he would have played 300 premier league games. Bar stones none of the others would or will have come close.

Weve been lucky to have him and we will miss him massively

Spot on he was part of the squad last time that got 3 league wins in 18 games and 2 were against relegated sides and we still had players like roberts, yiadom, scowen,Kent,Bradshaw,Armstrong etc in the squad with him. He has been good for us and I would have loved him to come back for the 2nd half but him or hourhaine in center midfield both same age i know who I'm picking.

Those stats tell you why I didn't come in my pants when he arrived for a second spell. I remembered his first spell. Total none event of a player. Not a bad player just a meh one. As for this experience people keep harping on about. He's hardly played in in his full career. Last time round I'd have sooner gone with Moncur and Mowatt in central midfield until the end of the season. Twice we've had him on loan now and not really needed him. Just my opinion.

Ideal fit at the ideal time.

Oldish head, steady away, exprienced and a great foil for our young squad.

It was a mutual win win with his match fitness and our requirement.

I'd have loved him for the season but hey ho. Just hope a Palmer or Kane grabs the reigns and thinks this is my chance.

    Good luck MJ and thanks.
