I've been watching the Reds for 60 years and I've never seen a Barnsley team as well organised and well drilled as this one. The cohesion in the group is astonishing. Well done Val, and the coaching team (including Adam Murray - who still seems to be at the club!). I've been wrestling with Red Rain's valid question about entertainment vs results and after much wrestling, I have to say that whilst we're not the most cavalier, expansive and attractive to watch I'll take "unpleasant" wins and hovering around the play off zone over attractive football, defeats and the threat of relegation all day long.
These past few years, I've loved watching the teams of Paul Heckingbottom, Daniel Stendel & now Valerien Ismael. All had different styles, but all have been enjoyable for me to watch. There is no one way to play football and I've never understood the almost Aryan pure fan attitude of "this is the way to play. Nothing else is good enough." Keep up the good work, Valerien and remember, I love you more than Tyke 67!
