Fire safety certificate?!! A bit OTT.

Pretty sure the flags on sale in the club shop don’t have fire safety certificates.

Saved me a trip though. I won’t bother bringing any of the home made flags from over the years.

What qualifies as a 'safe' or 'unsafe' flag ? Can I bring my fire breathing Welsh Dragon (always facing to the left!) to the ponty end.

And if the club is so concerned about Safety - have they worked out how someone in a wheelchair gets out of the East Stand Hospitality Suite in an emergency (lift cannot be used)?

How do you even get a fire safe certificate? I haven't got a flag, but just curious

You try to set the flag on fire if it burns it isn't fire safe.

Totally OTT IMO. The potential for spontaneous combustion is around zero%and the mass of combustible material in a few dozen flags distributed over the stands in open space would not burn sufficiently long to ignite even the plastic seats. Also there is no crowd at risk.
That said Futurist theatre supplies used to sell something called flamecheck which you sprayed onto materials . We used it in theatre drapes and flats since the old lights pre led days got hot enough to burn drapes within a couple of feet of the beam. How you are supposed to provide a fire certificate for a bought flag I have no idea. Daft jobsworth somewhere came up with that. Risk assessment low.

Agree mate. What are we (they) going to do when fans are allowed back in? Will they be asking "Have you got a fire certificate for that flag" before you go into the turnstile? Putting thousand of people at risk if you haven't......

Oh just a minute, let me take off my shirt to check the label to see what it's made out of. In the middle of January, when it's -5 degrees lol

People have been known to spontaneously combust.
Bet they didn't have an appropriate fire certificate on them at the time. Lack of pre-planning there.

Is this the official communication that there's been a change of mind about putting Reds Reserved Members unique t-shirts on seats in the Ponty End or have I missed a previous message?

Re the free shirt, I'd happily give that up and the money could instead be spent on some sort of seat covering for the Ponty. Whilst it's not a big issue I think some sort of covering (if only for the bottom rows) would look better on TV. It's noticeable when watching games and Quest highlights that quite a few other clubs have done it.
