Hard to know what to believe when even the KO time is wrong but that sounds to me like we wont be risking Mads or Williams and unlikely to start with Phillips or Connell guessing a side something like Isted Cotter Cundy Thomas (B) Kitching Larkesche or Cadden Kane Benson Russell or Thomas (L) No idea which 2 strikers will start Watters and Tedic most likely though Cole was rested last game so he may start
Not too worried about Andersen, yet. I imagine if his season is done for, Duff would just come out and say so. Hope Williams is ok. I'd put him in the back 3 against Bolton, I think his pace would be useful, covering for the central defender when the long balls go in behind.
I'm of the opinion that after last week he'd move Williams into central defence and play Cotter at right wing back. If Mads is injured of course.
Just a bit of scaremongering.. From Douglas O'Kane 4 hours ago: 'Barnsley are waiting for results of scans on Jordan Williams and Mads Andersen but are hopeful neither player will miss the play-offs.' I guess if Williams isn't fit either we'll play Cundy, Thomas and Kitching again, with Cotter at RWB. Another 4-4 then.
Yes, that’s a viable option I suppose. Just leaves us short of height for defending set pieces though. Hopefully Mads recovers quickly.
Given how the defence was caught out by a long ball against Ipswich, similar to the incident when Mads was sent off against Bolton, I’d be tempted to put Williams in the back three if Mads is back in the team as well.
Williams is a doubt (hamstring) Reds wait for Andersen and Williams scan results | Barnsley Chronicle
Reads as though he's a doubt for Sunday, but only because they don't want to risk anything, but should be ok for the play off game.
If Cundy plays in the play offs we have no chance. Sadly he’s a total liability as proved at MK Dons when Duff moved a RWB into his position.
I think after the season he’s had and recent lapses, Mads is more mentally tired than anything else. A couple of games off will do him a power of good.
