Didn’t see Saturday’s game but I’ve been impressed with Benson so far this season.

Obviously huge boots to fill with Mowatt departing but I think he has done well. Certainly got a bright future ahead of him.

He was poor on Sat hopefully just a bit out of sorts after missing 3 games but he got caught on the ball about 3 times when he should have passed etc.

Opinions eh? Outside of his pass to Sibbick at Cardiff I am struggling to think of anything else he's done. He's not looked like scoring his first goal or getting another assist. He's only good for a regular booking.

He's an up and at em' midfielder like Josh Scowen, Perkins or Joe Williams. He needs someone with guile alongside him like a Mowatt or a Kane. Oh wait a minute...

Not an assist, but his through ball at qpr was probably a bigger part of woodrows goal at qpr than the actual assist.

Sadly, nobody will get any assists while our front three insist on all standing still within 5 yards of each other and nobody making any runs behind. He seems to be asked to pick the ball up from the defence a lot as well, so is playing too deep. Get him in a midfield three with Palmer and Gomes and I think we’ll see a good player in Benson.

Jury is out for me. He’s young and has a lot to learn. There is some talent there. Set pieces have been dreadful.

Hopefully he can get back into the swing of things.

I’d say he is better on the ball than without it. His passing is good and he’s neat and tidy but doesn’t cover the same amount of grass as Mowatt used to do.
