Hope it's organised better than Saturday. It was the worst it's been this season with these arrangements in place.

The best tactic looks to be gate C. A and B were a disaster at the weekend.

Dads selling his prepaid parking ticket on the cheap because of the hassle. Big big **** up and I am anything but a club basher.

its not dogshite, its not hassle, its not hard to understand. there was an outcry on here a month ago about pedestrian safety. the club have done something positive about it that might mean a better situation for all. car drivers actually not moving the car for 10 minutes to let pedestrians clear the area first is one small part, parking in the right place and leaving by the right gate is the second. the big part in this though is that it requires people to follow instructions and help! im sure the club will look to refine the plan once it has been trialed a few times too if needed

There will always be someone who does not follow instructions, leading to the chaos we had on Saturday. If one car moves instead of remaining stationery as instructed, the rest will follow, whether it be through the attitude of "I'm not sitting here if they're moving" or "oh, we must be allowed to move now".

Forget the fact that folk were parking in the wrong section, some not through choice but through force because the section they wanted to park in was full (Who'd have thought that the number of cars wanting to park in each section would not correspond exactly to the space allocated eh?? Mental!)

Gates A and B were meant to open 10 minutes after the final whistle. They were not open 20 minutes after the final whistle. Gate D opened before gates A and B.

In the interests of pedestrian safety it would have been much easier to erect a fence down the left side of the car park, separating the pedestrians from traffic.

Let's not forget, it's a car park. If people insist on walking in the road they are putting themselves in danger. There's a perfectly good footpath on grove street which pedestrians could use, before turning left past Oakwell Sandwich.

I'm afraid it is doomed to fail from the start and hence, deserves the tag of "dogshit"

S****horpe have something similar in place and it is all controlled by one steward and a couple of cones standing at the exit point from their car park and not letting a single car out until the road - YES ROAD - running down the side of Glanford Park is free of pedestrians. It's frustrating being in the car waiting but it just takes some getting used to. It's not like coming out of Asda and jumping in the car and straight off. Nothing like that at all.

The first part I agree with as long as it's wide enough to get past the slower walkers.

The second part no way are people going to leave the East Stand and go the long way round. Anyway it's a car park not a road. You'd have a point if you were on about Oakwell Lane with hundreds walking in the road so cars struggle to get up and down.

The S****horpe car park situation was fantastic. I've not been to a lot of away games but that one was a joy... cheap ticket, really easy to get to, lots of food places etc. around and car park was an absolute doddle.

It is a car park. All the more reason for pedestrians to have their wits about them. People in cars have paid to park in there. Pedestrians haven't. Yet its the drivers who are being made to be late for work (both myself and my sister were late for work due to the delays, I can't speak for anyone else but I doubt we were the only ones) and kept penned in. I drive to the games because I have somewhere to be fast afterwards. Pedestrians can obviously take a leisurely stroll to wherever they want to go. But for me what should have been a 10 minute delay as planned which my schedule could have coped with, turned out to be a 40 minute one.

The execution of the gate opening was just farcical. You had cars queuing at gate A from the final whistle (see my earlier post about disobedience being inevitable) then turning round and rocketing up to gate D because it had opened and gates A and B hadn't but should have.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for keeping people safe, hence the fence idea but the design of the car park doesn't help at all. There's spaces for cars and then a road/driveway, no footpath. A designated and fenced off footpath would alleviate all the nausea for everyone.

pedestrians should be made to wait until the car park is empty.

after all they dont pay any road tax.

As a car user you're a pedestrian yourself on exiting the ground until you reach your car. These rules protect EVERYBODY leaving the ground. Its not an us v them situation at all, we're all 'us'

This always confused me when the club asked pedestrians to not walk through the car park as the answer to no lighting. I did wonder how people were supposed to get to their own cars in the dark. (I don't enter or exit through the car park).

Unless you are elderly or have some sort of physical illness why in chuffs name would you pay to park in that rathole when courthouse is free and straightforward to get out of.

There's no way you ever get out of that car park in 10 minutes usually. I don't see how not opening the gates for ten minutes (or however long it took them to open them) delayed anyone by longer than the time they were shut for (unless you mean they were shut for 40 minutes). It's always a free for all anyway so people not obeying the waiting time would have just made it the same as normal plus the time the gate spent closed.

When I was handed the little diagram on Saturday, it brought back memories of Lee Johnsons wallchart.

Plenty of "corridor of confusion" about it, but sadly lacking "positions of mass opportunities"

Youre effectively saying its us v them by distinguishing between pedestrians and motorists. But we're all pedestrians at some point. Dont get me wrong, Im a driver myself and I agree that the car park is a mess. But I would suggest that the biggest cause of delay in getting out is not foot traffic but those pig ignorant drivers with the "me first" attitude jockeying and scrapping for position, forming more and more lanes rather than queue in an orderly fashion.

Probably worth pointing out that unless you're going up Oakwell lane then the Beever court exit (D) is the same as turning left on Ponty road. Try and spread the volume of traffic.

I agree as I've said in earlier posts, but this new scheme isn't helping one bit it's just making it worse for considerate drivers
