Home game moved to Fri 19th May at 2000 just an FYI. https://www.efl.com/news/2023/may/sky-bet-efl-play-off-dates-confirmed/
Why the hell has that been changed to a Friday night? It would’ve been a ridiculously good atmosphere around town for that game on the Saturday. absolute criminal.
It was, and the other 2 were playing Friday, now they play Thursday. But we’re only fans why do we need to come into the equation. Edit, the 2nd leg for other 2 was going to be 12:30 Sat KO, the first leg was Friday, now that’s moved to Thursday.
What a stupid move. Far more of a pain for fans and spoils town centre business that would have made a lot more cash on a Saturday. Well done club for twenty is plenty. Home ends should sell out at that.
I’m hosting a BBQ for my Mums 65th birthday, which falls on Saturday 20th May. I didn’t say anything, plans are plans, but bless her she checked the dates and said she’d move it to the Sunday and let everyone know as she she didn’t want me and the boy to miss the game. Especially as I will be on a plane believe it not while the final is taking place!! It’s so poor. Why announce the dates only to change them about a week later? That will spanner plans for lots of people who have other responsibilities. Winds me right up.
Not exactly encouraging fans to watch games is it? For me to get a ticket for the away leg, I (quite rightly) have to wait til General Sale. That is the day before the game. On the day of the game there are no trains. My plan was to travel to Manchester on the Friday and then (if it’s Bolton) get trams and buses. Hard to make arrangements at such short notice. I have no problem being at the back of the queue. I have no problem with not even getting a ticket. I just think the entire EFL timetable has been planned with the usual disregard to the fans.
It actually works for me fortunately, because I have an overnighter booked in the Lakes on Saturday night and had not yet got round to changing it - that was tonight's job. But regardless of my fortune, the way they shaft fans like this is disgusting. But it will never change. Its all about the money.
Wednesday have said it's due to Police advice, probably can't cope with 2 big matches kicking off at the same time a few miles apart. But yet other police forces manage it
So it's bloody SYP again - can't possibly do 2 fixtures on the same day and definitely not when it's convenient for fans. Boils my piss it really does. Why do we have to be in the catchment of the worst police force in the country.
