    Anyone ever used one?

Got a crack on my windscreen that has appeared all of a sudden in the bottom left of my windscreen as I look out of my car approximately 4 or 5 inches in length.

Is it repairable without needing a replacement?

Only one I have seen online is a product called Rain X repair kit. (Reviews for it are very mixed)

I've used it but for a small crack, which did okay it's still good but 4 or 5 inch sounds a bit big .can you not get it repaired on your insurance? Cos it only costs a tenner if they repair it and don't effect your no claims bonus

Think my windscreen excess is 75 quid but worth checking insurance. Not worth hassle if its potentially going to go.

Thing is I am swapping my car over at a dealership in a couple of weeks.

When then saw my car Saturday it was fine (No crack)

    Crack appeared on Sunday

    Dilema.

Check your policy excess I've just looked at mine and it's 75 quid if they replaced it and 10 for a repair

If it starts right at the edge working inwards, if you’re lucky you can repair it, but it won’t last.
If it doesn’t start at the edge it’s borderline doable, you might make it look ok.
Personally I wouldn’t touch it take it in garage and see if they notice it.
If they try to haggle on price bear in mind they pay about £30 for a repair.

I doubt theyll take it if its cracked? Id just pay the relatively small excess and have your entire windscreen replaced. They come out to you too so very little hassle.
