Next month I will be launching a new course based at Shaw Lane. It shows adults with learning disabilities how a community sports club runs, and teaches them the various roles - catering, cleaning, coaching, grounds maintenance, service, scoring etc. The idea is that we build confidence and give them a chance to learn roles that are non academic. Ultimately we hope to get them job ready for roles e.g. Turnstile Operators, Stewards, Grounds keeping, bar work etc. I am looking for a volunteer(s) who are available on Thursdays to help the participants with learning. There also may be a paid role to “Job Coach” the participants when they volunteer at Shaw Lane at the weekends. Anyone interested, send me a message. We will need to do DBS checks etc.
