I'm always behind the curve as far as technical innovations are concerned. I've got a telly but no soundbar and was thinking of buying one to help with general audio quality from the TV (connecting with HDMI cable). I also thought that if the soundbar is bluetooth enabled I should be able to pair it with my laptop and play music through it. I'm not sure though whether this can only be done if I am subscribed to Spotify or some other, or whether any sound coming out of my laptop can be made to play through the soundbase. I'm particularly interested in being able to play youtube videos through it. I realise I could call Richer Sounds, but someone on here will put me right I'm sure.
I’ve posted this on here before but my neighbour’s sound bar has ruined my life. The bass is literally driving me insane and I sometimes go sit in my car for hours to avoid it. There’s not a room in my house where we can’t feel it. They turned it down a little but it made practically no difference and now they won’t change it. In fairness it doesn’t bother my husband but it makes me nauseous and gives me heart palpitations as I’m so sensitive to it.
I like Sonos. It’s a bit pricey but the quality is excellent and it’s very easy to use. You could get a beam to use for you Tv and it can also be used for music - it’s about £300 at the moment and £350 usually
I've got the while cinema setup in my living room which cost me a fair bit but I also have a couple of Sky Soundboxes on other TV's. For the price you can't fault it. If you've got Sky then it's about £189 if you've not bought one before however it can be pricey if you don't have Sky. You can pick them up on eBay, Facebook Marketplace etc if not
I'm a very respectful and courteous neighbour and my neighbours like me because they don't even know I'm in. If the house next door to mine comes up for sale, I'll let you know.
I'm not looking for anything too ambitious, just being able to hear audio on films and potentially being able to play youtube videos on it occasionally - but I wasn't sure if there was a restriction on the latter? I was thinking of https://www.richersounds.com/cambridge-tv5-v2-blk.html so I could fit my telly on top of it.
Can you stream music from youtube through it wirelessly using your laptop? Sorry if this is an ignorant question but I'm coming to the technology 10 years after everyone else, as usual
Mine don't, but but I'm sure they'll have something that fits the bill. https://uk.yamaha.com/en/products/c...m_campaign=av19&utm_term=UK&utm_content=broad Bose are also worth Googling
Right, I've just bought from Richer sounds a Denon dhts316 bar and subwoofer, a combination set for £279. They recommended it as being THE best under £300 for music, so as well as improving the tv sound it really is great for my phone music streaming and youtube videos. I find that it is good for bass quality with the music and vids, but doesn't give quite so much bass with the tv alone. If you buy a bar on its own then some can be a bit weedy and thin but with the sub along side then the difference is remarkable. I first tried the bar in front of the tv and the sub at the back of the room but as I said the bar isn't strong enough by itself. Put the sub along side the bar and it's a different matter. It is bluetooth and the sub picks up wifi from the bar so you can easily link it to your phone. There is a remote control so you can change both the general volume and sub volume. Overall power is very good, you'll be surprised when you turn it up, there's plenty of ooomph if you like that sort of thing. I like jazz so need a good bass response and it does this well enough. £279 is currently the best price I could find. There's a two year guarantee with it at the moment. Hope this helps.
I got a British make when we had the kitchen done, an Azatom Stealthbar. It's OK. But I posted on here for opinions for the lounge and as per @Chef Tyke above I went for a Sonos Beam Pricier but difference is amazing. Superb on its own for TV, Spotify etc, and I use Google assist on it (does everyone else say please or is it just me?). According to the forums there is no need to add a subwoofer in a standard size lounge but I did add a couple of Sonos Play One. Recommended. Normally £399, £320 this week
Buy a soundsystem. Big subwoofer job. Play Reigning Blood on repeat with speakers facing their wall. Go out.
I would say sonos all day long. I have the playbar, sub and 2 play ones... If your concerned about ya neighbours dont buy the sub its ridiculously loud but the soundbar is spot on and so simple to use
You need to appeal to them to turn it down JD. I had a similar problem with the Convenience store at the front of our houses. They were running a refrigeration unit that was keeping us awake at night. I appealed to the owner but he did nothing to help myself and fellow residents. I contacted my local Councillor and our MP and he brought Environmental Services in. They recorded the noise over a period and their tests proved the kit was exceeding the legal decibel levels. They served them notice that the equipment had to be isolated which finally cured the problem. They have not been able to use the equipment since.
I have one of these from ASDA and its superb.... and cheap. https://groceries.asda.com/product/...oid-50-w-transformable-soundbar/1000004704698
I have had a Bose one for a while. It's only about 2 ft wide but packs a punch. it is also great for bluetooth connection from my phone or mp3 player. It comes with a super high quality remote that can be programmed to use with the tv, stereo etc etc . The Bose i had before this was much wider and without the bluetooth etc.
