Apparently stopping cars on the border with West Yorkshire asking why they are travelling into their area despite the Tier 3 restrictions. https://www.wakefieldexpress.co.uk/...t-gog8A5TfCvyEVEpfJMyDON5jt2opEosOiBRznFJNyzM
According to this they shouldn't be doing: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.in...rkshire-police-drive-tier-3-b1766243.html?amp
In 1984 they also forcibly entered homes looking for striking miners who had just returned from the picket lines. What's more they did so without a warrant and any form of ID. It was a proven fact that in our village, one such "policeman" was in fact a serving soldier in the armed forces. We knew that, because he was engaged to a lass two doors down from us on the street where we lived.
Tell them you were travelling to another tier 3 area without stopping. Now that they have stopped you, they are the cause of you now breaking the guidelines.
You are only advised not to travel from a tier 3 to a tier 2 area. It's not a law. Police cannot do anything.
Just thinking about that logic JT - (in my head) it's the equivalent risk either way around - just different for different people. Travel from lower tier to a higher one - more risk to the person travelling. Travel from a higher tier to a lower one - more risk to the people in the zone travelling to. There's still a risk, and it's as risky either way. Am I making sense?
From North Yorkshire police site... https://northyorkshire.police.uk/ne...ovid-19-alcohol-with-food-rules-are-followed/
Imagine living in or visiting Staithes. The seaside village is split into two tiers by the river that runs through it and into the north sea. Common sense eh.
Wow, never heard the story of going into people’s houses. I presume it was to accuses them of doing something whilst on the picket rather than being at the picket?
scary stuff, but not surprised, give those in authority the opportunity to abuse their power, and they surely will.
During the first lockdown there was a Police blockade outside my house every day for a number of weeks stopping everyone. Not crossing borders, just stopping and questioning everyone. I don't think a lot of people realise what's actually been taking place this year.
I was stopped on my way to work early April. I had left my letter work issued saying I was a key worker in the other car. They had me call into work on speaker phone to confirm that's where I was going.
